Deye Unveils Scalable C&I Power Conversion System with Integrated Battery Storage for Enhanced Solar Integration

Key Insights

  • Deye has launched a new Power Conversion System (PCS) integrated with a lithium-ion energy storage system specifically designed for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications.

  • The system supports up to 200 kW of solar PV input with high MPPT efficiency, offering scalable PCS modules from 100 kW to 2.5 MW for diverse energy demands.

  • Featuring a static transfer switch, the solution ensures uninterrupted power supply with sub-20ms transitions across grid, off-grid, and diesel generator modes.

  • Each cluster provides up to 215 kWh of LFP battery storage, boasting a 6,000-cycle lifespan, enhancing grid stability and energy independence for businesses.

China-based Deye has officially launched its new PCS + BOS-B system, an integrated power conversion and battery energy storage solution tailored for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications. This strategic offering aims to enhance solar integration and grid resilience within the burgeoning distributed energy market, providing businesses with robust, uninterrupted power supply capabilities.

The PCS + BOS-B system is optimized for seamless solar photovoltaic (PV) integration, supporting up to 200 kW of solar modules through eight maximum power point tracking (MPPT) channels. Each channel is rated at 40 A, operating across a wide MPPT voltage range of 180 V to 850 V for 1,000 V PV systems. Deye stated that the system achieves MPPT efficiencies exceeding 99%, ensuring minimal energy loss during solar power conversion and subsequent storage.

Each Power Conversion System (PCS) module is available in 100 kW or 125 kW configurations, offering significant scalability up to 2.5 MW for larger C&I installations. The units deliver up to 170% peak power with a high operational efficiency of 98.5% and feature an IP65 protection rating, signifying robust environmental resistance suitable for diverse industrial settings.

At its core, the system incorporates a static transfer switch (STS) designed to ensure truly uninterrupted power supply. According to Deye, the STS is capable of completing transitions between on-grid, off-grid, and diesel modes in less than 20 milliseconds, a critical feature for sensitive industrial operations. Furthermore, independent high-power pathways support up to 500 kW connections for diesel generators, loads, and the grid, providing operators with substantial flexibility to adapt to fluctuating supply and demand without disruption.

The integrated energy storage component utilizes 14.3 kWh lithium-ion (LFP) battery modules. Each PCS cluster can accommodate up to 15 battery packs, yielding a total storage capacity of 215 kWh per cluster. These LFP batteries offer a substantial 6,000-cycle lifespan and carry an IP20 protection rating. They are designed to operate within a temperature range of 0°C to 55°C during charging and -20°C to 55°C during discharging, ensuring reliable performance across various climatic conditions.
