Four Zeros and Vergia Forge Strategic Alliance to Accelerate UK Green Hydrogen Development

Key Insights

  • Homerun Energy and Igraine PLC have partnered to deploy rapid-deployment EV charging and battery energy storage solutions in the United Kingdom.

  • The collaboration will initially focus on a pilot project for a major UK automotive manufacturer, aiming for a first-mover advantage in commercial EV infrastructure.

  • These integrated solutions are designed for quick implementation, bypassing the long planning timelines associated with larger grid-scale energy projects.

  • The partnership leverages Igraine's commercial network and Homerun's technical expertise, including its AI-powered Energy Management System, to meet unmet market demand.

Homerun Energy, a European subsidiary of Homerun Resources Inc., has formally partnered with Igraine PLC, an investing firm focused on alternative energy, to deploy integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery energy storage systems (BESS) across the United Kingdom. This collaboration, announced on August 5, 2025, strategically targets the burgeoning demand for robust EV infrastructure within the UK’s commercial automotive sector, with an initial pilot project slated for one of the nation’s largest automotive manufacturers.

The core of this joint venture lies in its emphasis on rapid deployment. Unlike traditional, larger-scale grid battery installations that often entail extensive planning and regulatory hurdles, these integrated solutions are engineered for quicker implementation. This agility aims to provide a substantial first-mover advantage, enabling commercial clients, particularly major automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), to establish reliable charging networks more swiftly, thereby accelerating the adoption and sale of commercial electric and hybrid vehicles.

Simon Grant-Rennick, Chairman of Igraine PLC, emphasized the synergy, stating, “This collaboration combines Igraine’s commercial reach with Homerun Energy’s technical expertise, and we are delighted to be advancing plans for a UK pilot with a leading automotive manufacturer, as well as addressing a growing pipeline of opportunities for supporting other commercial EV charging solutions.” He further highlighted the strategic advantage of these projects’ quicker route to market compared to large-scale energy storage developments.

Brian Leeners, CEO of Homerun Resources Inc., underscored the operational efficiency, commenting, “Working with Igraine over the past few months has demonstrated the speed at which solutions can be developed and deployed over our EMS Platform.” Leeners noted that Igraine has identified a significant unmet demand in the UK, and the resulting solutions are designed for scalability, allowing for deployment into other markets where Homerun Energy maintains a footprint. This initiative strategically creates a “down-market pull” on Homerun’s vertically integrated energy transition strategy, which spans high-purity quartz (HPQ) silica, solar glass manufacturing, and advanced energy management systems.

The initial phase of the collaboration will focus on technical feasibility, commercial modeling, and evaluating potential ancillary recurring revenue streams, including energy trading and operational management services for the pilot site. Andy Brown, with over three decades of experience in battery storage and energy systems, will lead Igraine’s contribution, guiding the technical and commercial aspects. While the agreement establishes a framework for cooperation, definitive commercial terms will be formalized as specific opportunities progress, building on several months of prior planning and customer engagement.
