The commercial close was formalized through the execution of comprehensive project agreements with the Department of Electricity and Energy and the National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA). This critical step follows the project’s designation as a preferred bidder in 2024 under the South African Government’s inaugural Battery Energy Storage Independent Power Producer Programme (BESIPPP), a key initiative designed to bolster grid stability and facilitate renewable energy integration.
