Key Insights
The Midwest Solar Expo has rebranded under the Intersolar & Energy Storage North America (IESNA) umbrella, marking the completion of its integration with IESNA.
The rebrand follows the event's 11th edition, the first under IESNA ownership, which attracted nearly 800 attendees.
IESNA executives emphasized the rebrand reflects a shared commitment to advancing renewable energy innovation in the Midwest.
The renamed IESNA Midwest event will return in June 2026, alongside other regional IESNA events in Texas and California.
The Midwest Solar Expo has officially rebranded as Intersolar & Energy Storage North America (IESNA) Midwest, completing its integration under the IESNA umbrella. The rebrand follows the event's 11th edition earlier this month, the first held since IESNA acquired the Midwest Solar Expo last year. Wes Doane, vice president of IESNA, stated, "Rebranding Midwest Solar Expo to IESNA Midwest concludes the integration of our teams, platforms, and expertise. More than a new name, it symbolizes a shared commitment to deliver the connections, resources, and insights that clean energy professionals need to navigate this transformative time in the energy transition."
The rebrand includes an integrated web presence, unified contact methods, and consolidated social media channels, according to Candace Letizia, IESNA's marketing director. "With IESNA’s bench of resources, we’ll be able to further [Midwest Solar Expo’s] founding mission of illuminating renewable energy innovation in the Midwest," she said. The event, now under the IESNA brand, aims to strengthen its regional focus while leveraging IESNA's broader network.
This year's event, though not yet under the IESNA name, drew close to 800 attendees, nearing the anticipated 900. Beckie Kier, IESNA event director, highlighted the goal of supporting the regional market, with plans to evolve the conference program and exhibit hall to meet attendees' needs. Letizia noted unique aspects of the Midwest event, including its collaborative atmosphere and strong participation from labor and union groups—a contrast to other IESNA markets.
The renamed IESNA Midwest will return June 15–17, 2026, in Rosemont, Illinois, alongside IESNA's flagship event in San Diego (Feb. 18–20, 2026) and IESNA Texas (Nov. 18–19, 2025, in Grapevine). The rebrand underscores the growing importance of regional energy events in addressing localized challenges and opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
