Hangzhou, Zhejiang – July 31, 2025 – ONVO, NIO’s strategically positioned second brand, officially commenced sales of its Smart Large-Space Flagship SUV, the L90, in Hangzhou. This pivotal launch introduces a compelling offering to the burgeoning electric vehicle market, with the L90 available in six-seater and seven-seater configurations. Pricing begins at RMB 265,800, or RMB 179,800 with the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription option, underscoring a flexible ownership model designed to lower entry barriers. Deliveries for the six-seater variant are slated to begin on August 1, 2025, with the seven-seat version following in late September, signaling ONVO’s readiness to meet immediate market demand.
The L90 is engineered on NIO’s latest 900V BEV platform, integrating ultra-compact and highly integrated components to optimize spatial efficiency. Measuring 5,145 mm in length with a 3,110 mm wheelbase, it achieves an impressive 81.5% effective longitudinal space. Its structural integrity is highlighted by a three-compartment steel-aluminum hybrid body, where aluminum alloy and high-strength steel constitute 84% of the build, contributing to a torsional stiffness of 38,150 N·m/Deg. Standard safety features include nine airbags, notably a 137 L front passenger fox ear-shaped airbag and 2,920 mm ultralong side curtain airbags, alongside 45 industry-leading active and intelligent safety features, including end-to-end autonomous emergency braking (AEB).
Energy efficiency is a core tenet of the L90’s design. Through 107 aerodynamic optimizations, the vehicle achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.25. Paired with custom ultra-low rolling resistance tires and a third-generation thermal management system, it boasts an energy consumption as low as 14.5 kWh per 100 km, leading its segment. The standard 85 kWh long-range battery provides a CLTC range of up to 605 km, complemented by seamless integration with NIO’s extensive nationwide power network, including battery swapping stations, to alleviate range anxiety.
Driving dynamics are enhanced by a lightweight design, with the L90 weighing 2,250 kg. It features front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspensions, integrating damper and spring, along with staggered ultra-wide tires. The rear-wheel-drive version, powered by NIO’s flagship 340 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the all-wheel-drive variant delivers 440 kW, achieving the same sprint in 4.7 seconds. The standard Cloud Comfort Smart Chassis, incorporating 4D Smart Suspension and Intelligent Smooth Stop (ISS) functions, ensures a refined and stable ride.
Inside, the L90 features SkyOS, China’s only full-domain vehicle operating system, and the AI-powered ONVO NT.Coconut Smart System. These systems provide intuitive, iterative smart experiences, supported by automotive-grade displays, including a 17.2-inch 3K center display and a 17.3-inch 3K roof-mounted entertainment display, both certified for low blue light. ONVO Smart Driving (OSD), built on NIO’s data and algorithms, has already supported over 100 million kilometers of user driving, with all ONVO models transitioning to an end-to-end foundation model for enhanced autonomous capabilities. The L90’s comprehensive suite of features positions it as a significant contender in the premium large SUV electric vehicle market, reflecting NIO's strategic vision for broader market penetration.
