Nissan Launches Energy Marketplace to Streamline Home Electrification for EV Customers
Key Insights
Nissan has launched the Nissan Energy Marketplace, a new platform in partnership with Electrum, to provide a one-stop-shop for home electrification solutions for EV owners.
The platform assists customers with the installation of residential EV charging stations, solar panels, and battery energy storage systems, including access to vetted contractors and incentive information.
This strategic move aims to simplify the EV ownership experience and position Nissan as a key player in the broader clean energy ecosystem, beyond just vehicle manufacturing.
The initiative, available in the U.S., supports current Nissan EV models like the Ariya and Leaf, and sets a precedent for integrated energy services in the automotive industry.
Nissan has launched the Nissan Energy Marketplace, a new digital platform designed to streamline the adoption of home electrification solutions for its electric vehicle (EV) customers. Developed in partnership with Electrum, the platform, which became available on August 3, 2025, aims to serve as a one-stop-shop for researching, purchasing, and installing residential EV charging stations, solar panels, and battery energy storage systems across the U.S. market.
The initiative addresses a critical need for integrated home energy management as EV ownership grows. The marketplace connects customers with a nationwide network of vetted contractors and provides access to Electrum’s Energy Advisors. These advisors assist users in comparing bids, identifying available local, state, and federal incentives, and designing tailored solutions to fit individual household needs and budgets. This comprehensive support is crucial for simplifying the often-complex process of home energy upgrades.
Jonathan Miller, Director of EV Transformation at Nissan US, emphasized the strategic vision behind the platform, stating, “At Nissan, we’re building more than electric vehicles — we’re shaping a smarter energy future. With the NISSAN ENERGY Marketplace, customers can enhance their EV ownership experience with tools and support tailored to each household’s unique needs.” This statement underscores Nissan’s intent to expand its role beyond vehicle manufacturing into providing a holistic energy ecosystem for its customers.
Currently, Nissan offers the 2025 Ariya and the outgoing 2025 Leaf in the U.S., with an all-new 2026 Leaf featuring an extended range and a NACS charging port slated for release in the fall. While primarily designed for Nissan EV owners, the platform’s utility for non-Nissan EV drivers is implied, given the universal compatibility of home EV charging stations with appropriate connectors. The platform features reputable charging units like the Emporia Classic and Emporia Pro, known for advanced capabilities such as dynamic load management.
Max Aram, CEO of Electrum, highlighted the collaborative effort, noting, “We are thrilled to bring our home electrification expertise to Nissan and support their EV owners on the path to a fully electrified lifestyle. Together, we are breaking down the barriers to home electrification, making it easier than ever for Nissan customers to harness clean energy and take charge of their energy future.” This partnership leverages Electrum’s specialized knowledge in home energy solutions to enhance Nissan’s customer value proposition, marking a significant step in the convergence of automotive and distributed energy industries.
